Penguin Random House approached me to design a series of covers for their collection of classic novels by American writer James Ellroy. The brief was to create covers that reflect the atmosphere of the noir crime novels, with a subtle vintage flavour. I used a high contrast color scheme and combined it with sans serifs, sharp letter shapes.
