TOPOLIVNICA is a master degree project for a museum exstension in an abandoned factory in Kragujevac, Serbia. The factory use to produce/cast cannons (cannon=top, cast=livenje) so therfore the name is TOPOLIVNICA. The project includes revitalization of this abandoned area, reuse of old factory buildings, and also a new building. Allong with revitalizing the area, the aim of the project was to give a new but old meeting place to the people of Kragujevac. Old in a sense that during the gold days of the factory in which our parents worked, the people working there (which was half of the city) gathered under the chimney every day. Those people are still talking about those days of socializing under the chimney, I hoped some new generations would do the same. The chimney and the plateau are encircled by the buildings, adding to the great acoustics of the place, making it fantastic for concerts, outdoor cinemas, sports events, art gatherings and exhibitions, and such.
