Design Action -
The brief asked to create a flexible visual identity for an event on the theme of ‘design action’ in collaboration with the London Design Festival.
An essential part of the brief is to showcase in a new and engaging way the London College of Communication’s manifesto.
We translated the manifesto into ‘key actions’ and asked students to represent them visually in symbols, creating a comprehensive system of signs open to individual interpretation.
Reductive drawings is a concept developed from the idea of design working as a system where different actions make the mechanism to work. The core parts have been reduced to visual essence which forms a system of signs, open to individual interpretation and re-elaboration.
