Characters Vol. 2

Characters: Vol 2.

Since it's invention in the 1860s, the primary function of the typewriter has always remained the same. It enables the user to write in printed characters onto a sheet of paper with the aid of some metal relief type, an inked ribbon and some clever mechanics.

Despite this simple role, the sheer number and variety of models that have evolved since it's invention is staggering. This ongoing project sets out to record just some of the many interesting models that have been and gone over the years. Each with it's own unique style, design and and character.

Volume 1 on this project can be found here.
