I was honored to have the opportunity to work on the film "POKÉMON Detective Pikachu" for several months at Framestore, where I crafted highly detailed 3D concepts for a variety of characters including Mewtwo, Greninja, Charizard, and many others.
At the client's request, I am currently unable to display my complete portfolio. Consequently, I can only showcase images that are already available on the official Pokémon website.
Venusaur 3D Concept
The primary objective was to transform the 2D Pokémon into photo-realistic 3D creatures with realistic textures and anatomy.
Maintaining the unique characteristics of each Pokémon was crucial, as was finding a balance between stylization and realism. It was a fulfilling process to bring these characters to life in a new way.
My Venusaur and Dodrio concepts are published in the book: The Art and Making of POKÉMON Detective Pikachu.
My concepts for Blastoise and Charizard (among others) were used as posters in the film. The following images are screengrabs from the trailer.
