The UNL Peace + Civility Project aims to promote civility across the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Specifically, promoting the core values of civil interactions by encouraging dialogue across the university.

Originally developed by the Duluth Superior Areas Community Foundation, The Civility Project was designed to urge members of a community to communicate in a more respectful and effective way. The initiative was not intended to end disagreements but to improve public discourse by simply reminding community members of the very basic principles of respect. The nine simple tools for practicing civility are taken from P. M. Forni’s book, Choosing Civility.
