'Nii' - Music Artist Branding Project
The following freelance branding design project was for upcoming R&B musician, Nii. This involved the logo, single (‘Let It Show’) and album (self-titled) artwork designs for the artist. Further branded graphics including social media posts, banners, gig posters and music platform graphics are presented in order to visualise a more complete brand aesthetic.
Development
The concept of fluidity is explored typographically in both the logo and single artwork designs. This is to embody the artist’s smooth, flowy sound. Scanning experiments using different motions and speeds to manipulate printed type, produced some of the following liquidous typographic patterns which would later be used to create the final designs.
Here are key examples of logo development, where the designs have been influenced by the liquidous typographic scans, and colour schemes reflect water and liquidity. Graphical representations of sound waves or bars have also been incorporated into some of the typographic designs.
