Hotel Resort Murro di Porco - Syracuse/Italy 2016

The complex of buildings of the Resort Hotel Murro di Porco, rapresents collage of Sicilian architecture of the different historical periods. From the Greek, Roman and Norman influence, over to the eclecticism, the old “tonnare” factories, “bagli” and houses. The Hotel is oriented to the south, so that guests can enjoy the highest number of hours of sunshine during the day. Its shape follows the terrain movement, in order to incorporate.

Museum for temporary exhibitions is located on the very edge of peninsula, along the axis virtual created by a lighthouse. Circular in shape, with glass surfaces 360 degrees, offers panoramic view of the sea and the entire site. In the center of the museum building, in the open courtyard, there is an amphitheater, inspired by historical amphitheater in Syracuse.
The Villas are dedicated to the type of guests who want complete peace and direct contact with nature around. Designed as a junction of a traditional Sicilian stone houses and modern wooden constructions, provide complete comfort with all necessary services for multi-day stays. The large glass window front gives the impression of sleeping under the open sky. Wooden sides serves as a sun rays protection during sunny summer days.
