Establishing a consistent brand...
As with the airport project, one of my missions with New Image College was helping establish a consistent look and feel across their product lines. While not selling actual physical products in terms of the produced booklets or online media, every institution should always have a consistent image that speaks of the professionalism of the team behind it.

My design predecessor at New Image College had taken great strides to establishing the initial feel, but now it was my turn to transform those beginnings into something representative of the brand. One of the first projects that took this on was the conversion of the Student Guidebook from a plain Word document over into something visually appealing with constantly updated information helpful to students past, present and future of New Image College. This involved taking apart the old word document and putting it back together again in a way that made sense in a narrative form, while also updating, enhancing and adding onto the information that was being provided.

In the end the new Student Guidebook, aptly named "Welcome to the World of New Image College" for its two primary sections (Welcome to Vancouver: First Steps and Welcome to New Image: Settling In), ended up becoming far more than just a manual for students. New Image College was suddenly able to use it as a recruiting tool thanks to its visual appeal as well as the wealth of information valuable to both newcomers to Vancouver and Canada alike as well as students.

Eventually this identity also spread onto the brochures used to promote the school as our selected typographies, layout styles and images became more and more emblematic of the school itself.
