NAFA Student-Led Project: "Your House, Your Rules!"

A house is not just a place you call home or a place that has four walls and a roof. It’s more than that, what is the real meaning of being home? No one can break it down for us. We can fantasize about it or build one in our minds. We can stay overnight but where do we really call a place our home? To me, I like my house to be where I can be comfortable and happy. Our house is a place where we are allowed to be whoever or whatever we want. We can express ourselves without any difficulties.
The reason why I came out with “YOUR HOUSE, YOUR RULES!” is because I always feel more comfortable outside my own home. I find it weird that every time I’m home, I feel trapped and lost. It's as if I’m not myself. There’s nothing wrong with the people in the house, it’s just that I’m temporarily trapped and the only way to be free is to leave. And so, I did; I set my own rules and find my version of home, a place where I can be happy. Surrounded by people where I can be myself.
This exhibition features 16 artists from different types of majors: Graphic Communication, Screen Media, Theatre & Landscape and Architecture. Watch how each artist interprets their meaning of house and how they set their own rules.
