We created a soundtrack entirely performed to picture without the use of samples, synthesizers or sound effects libraries.
The Membrane:
There are two creatures growing underneath this thick membrane. We wanted it to have liquid properties with a thick skin in order to make the audience feel the flesh; and that both creatures are alive.

The Tentacle:
Limbs from the nature based organism that is moving around, wandering and exploring with the goal of absorbing the creatures inside the membrane. We were looking for earthy sounds to reflect nature and the sound of the flesh as it crawls around the creatures and environment.

The Micro System:
The story takes place in a mysterious world filled with unknown vegetation and matter. It had to feel like nature, but not the one we are used to hearing.
We used a wide variety of products to create textures for each character. Fruits, vegetables, cloth, dirt, meat, ropes and much more. We had to create a particular sound for each character for them to feel alive, real and consistent for the audience to keep track of each one as the story develops. As a team, we had a brainstorming session to decide which props had the properties we were looking for and to try and predict how the foley artist would manipulate them.
Bubbles for the Micro System.
The membrane was created with a mysteriously wonderful prop.
Getting our hands dirty to get that grain.
One of the layers that forms part of The Tentacle.
Bowed Electric Dobro.
Melodic loop with harmonics.
Bowed Electric Bass.
We added layers of breaths to help bring the creatures to life.
