Dr. Seuss Poster Animation

This collaborative project combined illustration and animation with the goal of creating an interactive augmented reality poster. The artist who illustrated, Darby Wright, gave me few specifications on what she desired to be animated. In the end, I created an animation that made dynamic movement without confusing or distracting the viewer from the overall concept.
During the construction of the project, I looked at each layer individually to brainstorm ideas. The clouds moving across the sky and the balloons flying up into the atmosphere were clear elements to implement into the overall design. Initially, I wasn’t sure how to animate the author’s real name, or even that I should, but I desired to use as much of the illustration I could to make the animation visually dynamic. The elephant may not be as visually prominent as the other layers, but its purpose was to represent one of his many well known characters.
