Image of Dionysus.

I thought up costumes and style for a musical group Nimphonoe (images of ancient Greek gods in modernity.).

► Searching for ideas for a stage image, I took the name of the group and their logo and started to invent the costumes. I re-read history, symbolism, took into consideration the logo design and suggested to take the character and purpose of the ancient Greek gods as a basis for the stage image, and use their attributes, black and white colors, Greek symbols in costumes, whether it be a famous meander ornament.

► Focusing on the appearence of members of this band, I chose for the stage image the following gods: Hermes, Dionysus and Ares. In appearance and character, they fit the types of guys and have something in common with musical instruments and roles in the band. The image of Dionysus is shown here. ► I also made the minimum option of costumes for the stage image of the archetypes of all three gods, using only everyday things and details that are characteristic for these archetypes. About this, as well as symbolism and the creation process, watch my blog about style.

The second image is Dionysus (Bacchos, Bacchus). God of vegetation, viticulture, winemaking and fun, the productive forces of nature, inspiration and religious ecstasy, orgies, as well as theater. He was famous as a god who frees people from worries and removes the bonds of measured life (“the god of ecstasy and horror, fury and the most blissful liberation”).

• Description in one word: mystic.

• Qualities, character of Dionysus: drunkness, ecstasy, madness, delight.

• Attributes of the god Dionysus: grapes and wine; trees; bread; bull; goat; his companions are satyrs; predatory cats like cheetahs and lions, bears, as well as snakes; thyrsus (this is a wooden rod twined with ivy and grape leaves and crowned with a pine cone); connection with sea elements and water; companions - all the time surrounded by women: nymph educators; maenads ("crazy"), they are fiads ("frantic"), they are also bacchantes.

• Musical instrument: saxophone.

• Appearance type of musician: Classic.

• Suitable image: English gentleman, dandy, nobility itself.

• Recommended style for this musician: Neoclassic, English style, Preppy style.

• The motto: "everything in moderation", "do not decrease, and do not add," "enough."

• Recommended Costume Style: 20th Century Gangster (Gatsby / England)

Образ бога Диониса.

Я придумала костюмы и стиль для музыкальной группы Нимфоное (образы древнегреческих богов в современности).

► Для поиска идей сценического образа я взяла название группы «Нимфоное» и их логотип. Перечитала историю, символику, учла дизайн логотипа и предложила ребятам взять для  сценического образа в качестве основы характер и предназначение древнегреческих богов, а в костюмах использовать их атрибуты, черно-белую гамму и греческую символику, будь то известный орнамент меандр.

► Ориентируясь на типажи участников этого бэнда, для сценического образа я выбрала следующих богов: Гермес, Дионис и Арес. По внешнему виду и характеру они подходят под типажи ребят и перекликаются с посылом музыкальных инструментов и ролей в бэнде. Здесь показан образ Диониса. А образы двух других богов вот: Арес и Гермес.

► Также я сделала минимальный вариант костюмов для сценического образа архетипов всех трёх богов, используя всего лишь повседневные вещи и характерные для архетипов детали. Об этом, о символике и процессе создания смотри по ссылке в моём профиле (блог о стиле).

Второй образ ― Дио́ни́с (Ва́кхос, Ба́хус). Бог растительности, виноградарства, виноделия и веселья, производительных сил природы, вдохновения и религиозного экстаза, оргий, а также театра. Славился как бог, освобождающий людей от забот и снимающий путы размеренного быта («бог экстаза и ужаса, неистовства и самого блаженного освобождения»).

· Описание одним словом: мистик.

· Качества, характер Диониса: опьянение, экстаз, безумие, восторг.

· Атрибуты бога Диониса: виноград и вино; деревья; хлеб; бык; козёл; спутники — сатиры; хищные кошки вроде гепардов и львов, медведи, а также змеи; тирс (это деревянный жезл, увитый плющом и виноградными листьями и увенчанный шишкой пинии); связь с морской стихией и водой; спутницы — всё время окружен женщинами: воспитательницы нимфы; менады («безумствующие»), они же фиады («неистовые»), они же вакханки.

· Музыкант: вокалист и саксофонист

· Музыкальный инструмент: саксофон.

· Типаж музыканта:  Classic.

· Подходящий образ: английский джентельмен, денди, сама благородность.

· Стиль, рекомендуемый для музыканта: Неоклассика, английский стиль, стиль Preppy.

· Девиз: «всё в меру», «не убавить, и не прибавить», «достаточно».

· Стиль, рекомендуемый для костюма: гангстер XX века (Gatsby / Англия )
