Carriage Bench

This project was an intervention of sorts to shore up two beautiful carriage benches. Steel plates and spandrels were added to stiffen the legs and feet, while a steel plate was tucked under the seat to add strength to the sagging wood.
The intervention was designed in a way that allows the parts to be removed without adding new holes or damaging the existing wood, thus preserving the natural state of the pieces while extending their lives for all to enjoy.
