Architecture Design of an Office Building - 2010
Karaj, Tehran, Iran
This project was about designing an office extension building for a stone manufacturer in Karaj. He wanted a building that was unique and somewhat displayed his stone types. Moreover he wanted an entrance that conveyed a sense of accomplishment and power. The interior space was to be used by office employee at 3 floors and a dining at one floor. For my first concept was a glass entrance with truss structure. The two sides of the building had an identical volume with nearly the same functions. I was intended to use combination of volumes and textures in the façade. My second concept was a more simple structure for the entrance while it integrated with Iranian symbolic patterns. The stone types were smoother in surface. Additionally, the balconies allowed view and volume transaction as well as filtered light transmission.
