The fun of editorial illustration is that there is very little in the way of limitations - as someone who loves bank note design, postage stamp production and graphic technique - this piece was just having fun, I cannot stress the importance of having fun when you work.
I scanned in a piece of our local currency and analysed the portion in front of me and this is the result. Postage stamps, many, but not all bank notes are masterpieces of the craft - engraving, intelligent design and tricks to make counterfeiting difficult, paper texture and process are designed to foil copying.
As South Africa has a massive problem with institutional government corruption, malfeasance, outright looting and lack of effective judicial control to curb this wholesale looting of taxpayer's money, added to which we have a president that seems ineffective as a leader means we as a country are in desperate trouble going forward.
