PouchLamp Series/ Australis

Throughout this project I have explored several key aesthetic and conceptual themes related to the idea of deep time, such as geological features, palaeobotanical imagery, natural resource extraction and sustainable materials. I have chosen to focus on an intersection between the forms of endemic flora and fauna and have included unexpected materials and contemporary features. I feel it is this unexpectedness bordering on the absurd that defines my idea of the Australian Design Identity.

PouchLampMedium. 700mm tall, Kangaroo hide, cpper, PU resin, aluminium, plaster, zipper, electronics, LED globe. Features a dimmer-zip: as the user pulls down the zip, the LED light brightens. Zip up to dim light or turn off.
PouchLampLarge. 1800mm tall, Kangaroo hide, cpper, PU resin, aluminium, plaster, zipper, electronics, LED globe. Also features the dimmer-zip.
