Ladybug
The Google Street View camera has been affectionately nicknamed Ladybug due to its round red body which is spotted with lenses. Carried on cars and backpacks, it has captured much of my home city of Cape Town, including unscripted scenes of bystanders going about their daily lives.  Some of these moments are quite intimate and evocative, and to pay tribute, I’ve recreated them as linocut prints. Jacobus Hendrick Pierneef famously used this technique to document South African landscapes in the first half of the 20th century. In spirit I'm following in his footsteps, but my eyes are digital and my travels are virtual.
