PROJECT BACKGROUND
Around the end of 2017, Mercedes Benz brand ambassador, former Apple Evangelist and venture capitalist Guy Kawasaki took a tour of the DigitalNEST and it's Studio. After observing our production facility, Guy proposed a collaboration. The project was to be a Social Media video content series where Guy Would deliver advice to viewers on subjects such as business, entrepreneurship, ethics, leadership, self improvement and more. The two seasons would be streamed on Facebook to promote the platforms new video features and would be presented by American Express.

DELIVERABLES
A total of 10 episodes were ordered, each from 3-7 minutes for the first round, the 2nd season was ordered for a total of 25 episodes for streaming. These bite-sized nuggets of wisdom would be distributed on Facebook and promoted by Guy. Assets such as the opening bumper and closing animation would be provided by Guy's freelance editor.
THE PROCESS
The production was straight forward, an interview setup with 3 point lighting. Meant to be minimalist, to the point and focused towards Guy and his content. Post production consisted of editing assembly, sound mixing, music, motion graphics and color grading. Guy's freelance editor made an amazing intro and outro which set the tone for each episode, we needed to create music and motion graphics to match the intro and Guy's electric personality.
Funny enough, one of the episodes mentions Guy's preference on the visual design of PowerPoint presentations, we applied that same visual language to our motion graphics. As for the Music, the nature of the percussion for the intro was great and brought such a bold energy to the episodes, we didn't want to lose that energy so we decided to sample the intro music to slowly build in to queue the audience in that the end of an episode was near.

CHALLENGES & GROWTH
At the time, even though the content was short in length, it was the first time our team had produced a SERIES of content. Consistency was a factor to consider across aspects such as color grading, sound mixing and graphics, It definitely helped us streamline our pipeline towards producing series-structured content.
Seeing as we were going to be working with an influencer, I took it upon myself to produce a short vlog on our experience working with Guy. This experiment in documenting our progress through video vlogging would later manifest itself in our INTAKE vlog series where we dove in weekly into our projects, our process and our passion at the DigitlNEST. I personally ended up producing, writing, hosting, shooting and editing each episode.
