This is my alternative movie poster for 'Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood', submitted in response to a creative brief run by Poster Spy. It was a huge honour to have this piece chosen as 3rd place runner up by director Quentin Tarantino.
The brief called for an approach that drew on the film's style, setting and year and I spent quite a lot of time studying iconic late sixties poster art by greats such as Robert McGinnis and Bob Peak for inspiration. With the floating vignettes, negative space, typography and spiral composition I did my best to evoke the feel of the period and setting in my own style.
