For a few days my team had the chance to work on a project of their choice for our game Words With Friends Instant Facebook Games. I decided to create a design a dark mode for the game while one of the other developers implemented it. This also allowed for further expansion into different themed boards if this was a path the product owners wanted to take.

The previous design mostly used colours of the game: blues, yellows and whites.

To change this, I switched most of the blues to darker blues and whites to greys and blacks. I kept the yellows as an accent colour since they are not used too much in the game. We also put a toggle on the settings page to allow players an easy switch when needed.
