Wild Man on the Middle Mountains

After a long session of uni work i finally got around to drawing something for my own pleasure and coloring it after months since i last touched the tablet. I tried to keep the pencil drawing within the painting and integrate it as a layer of shade giving me a certain texture for the final piece. The drawing overall depicts a character from the fantasy story Azum'rah - Kings of a Dying World and was done on a standard A4 paper
A quick view over the main steps of the process. This is a result of the first 6 months of using a tablet as a hobby and not a priority.
1. Started off with a simple drawing used for color blocking
2. First skin color layers
3. Final skin color layers + background color
4. Adding fire, light and snow
5. The background plus a blue hue to the skin for winter effects
6. Finishing pieces
A few close-up details. The drawing size is not big therefore i had to use a small amount of space for expressivity. I aimed for a fierce, threatening look while trying to keep it somewhat gormless. As for the fire, this was my first attempt of drawing flames in photoshop, hoping for better result for the future.
