The Boutique Spa design for Japanese skincare, SK-II in Malaysia explores
the pattern through the skin surface, diffusing and obscuring the vision.
I was inspired by the concept of the hero ingredient of SK-II which is Pitera.
This clear liquid of Pitera occurred through the natural fermentation
of rice. Driven by the natural process of Pitera, which blends harmoniously
the elements of Nature, technology and craftsmanship into my design. The
reflecting skin pattern on the facade emphasises the symbolic History of SK-II. This
facade installation involves material technology of glass discs that will animate
according to the natural environment force. The facade installation is linked
to the interior by adapting the repetition of patterns on the wall surface and
decoration. Using natural materials like wood and stone incorporated
with the corporate design of SK-II.
