I've had this one in mind for a while.

I wanted to do a muscle car - but something a bit different. I wanted it to have a resto-mod vibe .  . nothing too refined or over-styled. Very simple bodywork surfaces - pared back to the extreme. I wanted to leave things feeling a little rough around the edges - hard to judge whether its a nearly finished project, or a barn-find in need of love and attention.

It's one of those projects that had responded well to adding more detail - more visible mechanical underpinnings, less bodywork. Over each round of CAD development there's been less and less "styled" exterior surfaces - and more emphasis put on developing the running-gear.

I suspect I could keep going and add a LOT more in terms of driveline and suspension etc, but for now I'm largely kit-bashing it out of existing data I've got around me.
Been fun to develop such a simple, brutal front end. Very linear construction, simple block detailling. Has made a refreshing change to the typical projects I cover in my day-job!
Hard edged stock car vibe. Was obviously influenced by The General Lee from my childhood TV - but I didn't want to do an obvious re-creation. It's coming out well so far - it manages to explore and reference something familiar, without ending up too conventional as a project.
Gotta love a big block V8 - even if it's never going to win any awards for being environmentally friendly . .  .
. . .and I'm pretty sure those side-dump exhausts wouldn't get through any roadside checks . . . sorry, officer!
Fun way to spend the first day of the 2019 Christmas break - that's for sure .  . .
Hehehehheh . . ridiculous 80's cheesy vibe to this view . . .
Cutaway view to showcase some of the modelling behind the scenes to help flesh out the chassis & runing gear - I might have to do a fully naked version once finished & detailled...
Managed to get a bit more time on the interior today . . .  still very much built out of existing / reworked models - but I figured the dials and switch-panel would benefit from a bit more care and attention. Fun to recycle the surfaces from my recent watch project and turn them into instrument dials - seems to work quite well. Getting into this - could see myself spending a lot more time in here before I'm fully satisfied!
Reminds me of the old school movie poster for "JAWS" . . . There may be some parallels I can draw  - I'm definitely intending this to be a pretty terrifying ride, for sure . . .
