The inspiration behind the "X" was in part due to my fascination with letters like "X", "Z" and and "Q". I find their forms delightfully interesting. I have been playing around with slab serif typefaces and wanted to revisit a previous idea of marrying their heavy, authoritative forms with something delicate and airy–hence the flowers.
I love exploring these sorts of graphical juxtapositions. They create a visual tension that also gives balance-while bringing together elements that otherwise may not "play nice".
