Fusion Bijoux, Spring 2015 - Promotional Campaign
Fusion Bijoux is a jewelry design company based in Bali, Indonesia with offices in Montreal. All jewelry is made by hand using sterling silver, gold leaf and semi-precious stones. The people behind it are a handfull of Balinese artisan families who have been passing down their traditional craft over generations.
The company prides itself in showcasing these unique, traditional pieces and takes pride in its small batch production and closely nit relationships with the families.
The promotional campaign for Fusion Bijoux was inspired by these small works and the traditional environment from which they come.
The video piece was shot in Celuk, Bali at the small workshop owned by silversmith Ketut Suparja. This piece aims at showing the viewer the artisan nature of production behind the jewelry and attempts to bring a human face behind the works of art.
In addition to the short video piece, I also worked on the product photography for the 2015 collection. I was mandated with taking product photos of these handpicked pieces for the website.
Once again, I wanted to display the jewelry on brown, matte tones and cultural relevance to the piece itself. This resulted in the photography of jewelry on multiple backgrounds ranging from sculpted would, traditional paintings and hindu scripture.
