Hill Country Wedding Chapel
Design Concept
The design Hill Country Wedding Chapel is based on the idea of rings & light. The idea is appropriate to the client because rings are worn by both clients, with a symbolic meaning of love and unity. Light relates back to their religions, since they both worship and see the “light” in their God(s).
It also relates to the site because rings are worn inside the chapel and it is an important part of the ceremony. To express this idea, the plan features the north wall as the focal point that is well lit with natural lighting. The way you move through the space is down the center isle, so the Bride will see the effect of “the light at the end of the tunnel” as she walks down the isle to meet her groom.
The idea is further reinforced by use of materials through a color scheme that resemble rings like silver and gold, then muting them by using a neutral color scheme. Textures and patterns can be added onto, or simply left alone for a more elegant scenery. The use of organic and round shaped elements are used to resemble the light and shape of rings, preferably with circular chandeliers to create rhythm throughout the chapel.
