Mitch Marner, shot for FW16 Under Armour Fleece. Shot by Aaron Cobb. Art Direction: Ian Chung. This shoot was a bit of a challenge because Mitch literally came back from a family vacation in Jamaica literally hours before the shoot. He was dead tired so we had to feed him a constant supply of candy. The wall in the background was actually painted full of graffiti but we managed to get authorization to clean it up before our shoot. As per our FW16 direction at the time this image was heavily edited. At that time he hasn't fully grown out yet so we had to make a lot of wardrobe adjustments so it didn't seem like the samples were too big on him.

Another challenge that we faced as we shot Mitch was that because it was his first shoot ever he was a little stiff. While I also have experience working with models it's quite different when you're shooting non-models who aren't accustomed to doing apparel shoots. We had to do quite a bit of coaching to get the results we needed. A lot of the criticism that we received was that he was looking a little too angry when the direction we were hoping to achieve was 'more determined'.

Under Armour is primarily known for our training apparel, which is another reason why these more casual, lifestyle shots are more difficult because at this point we were still trying to identify our lifestyle identity.
