Originally a maker of housewares for vacation homes and hotels, Ozeri Corporation has shifted its focus to luxury products for the home kitchen, bathroom, and entertainment area. The Ozeri Corporation catalog features many useful items, such as nonstick frying pans made without toxic chemicals.

Many consumers enjoy the benefits of nonstick frying, but choosing a pan should be done carefully. Tempered glass, carbon steel, porcelain enamel, ceramic, and lava rock pans are all non-toxic.

Stainless steel and cast iron pans are for the most part safe, but they can release metals into your food and should be avoided when simmering for a long time or preparing tomato dishes and other foods that are highly acidic.

At the bottom of the safety list are uncoated aluminum and Teflon pans. Studies of high aluminum intake point to incidences of nervous system issues such as Alzheimer’s and disorders on the autism spectrum. Teflon contains per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which in long-term animal tests have been linked to reduced birth weights, immunological deficits, cancer, and thyroid imbalances.

In contrast, Ozeri’s Green Earth pans use Greblon Ceramic, a durable coating that prevents aluminum leakage, and which is free of PFAS and the also-harmful polytetrafluoroethylenes (PTFEs). The ceramic cooking surface is made even less sticky by its honeycomb texture.
