Built to bridge the gap between searching internal and external resources within an institution, Resourceful, helps users to save time and encourages broader adoption of more searchable curated resources.
After studies of the way people search in various scenarios, it was discovered there are two main approaches from users; those who know what they are searching for and others that are unsure of what key terms to search. Resourceful combines the familiarity of traditional search engines complimented with a dynamically generated directory to address both use cases.
Different hierarchies of tags and metadata can be displayed with each of the internal results with custom descriptions and titles. Google results for the searched term also appear below the internal items. A feedback feature is also provided for users to rate and contribute to the rankings of each of the resources.
From an administrative perspective in terms of seeing trends and being able to tailor future resources and activities to users needs, Resourceful also provides anonymous search analytics, publicly available to the whole user base.
