Theatre Display Case
As the historian of Rampart Thespian Society, it is one of my duties to design, plan, and put up our display case--different for every show of the season. The foundation of the display case is a red background with gold curtain from Joanne's fabric, to not only represent the essence of performing arts but also to capture the attention of every passerby. This fall season our theatre is putting on Newsies. To capture the ruggedness and war theme of the show I did a hodge podge make-up of newspapers, careful to make sure they were all black and white pages and cutting out and discarding any color and stay true to the time period of the show. Additionally, to capture attention with the shock factor and to also represent the offbeat anti hero of the story, I added red spray paint. At the bottom, I took an iconic line from the show, "Strike starts now," and turned it to "Strike Starts Nov 7, 8, & 9."
