The Foundation of Doctor Manuel d'Oliveira Sousa is in Ponta Delgada, Azores, and works to promote the study of philosophy, history and archeology.

The brand uses a terracotta head as its symbol from archaeological roots of the Foundation. The symbol is not only one of the first traces of the archipelago, but represents humanities studies in which the Foundation exercises its patronage.

The colors refer, to the colors of the Azores: the sea and its fertile volcanic soil.
