The Russian North is a place where you can understand the whole meaning of the expression "end of the world". The end, because everything stopped here - time, hopes, dreams and a traveler that accidentally wandered into these lands.
But maybe for someone this is the starting point where everything is just beginning - it depends on which way you look.
