SELF-ASSESMENT:
In the beginning of my course I wasn’t too sure what the things going on as last year was easy not to do much but I liked it, don’t know how to come up with good and different ideas how to tackle the design problems but in (Chris Connor’s) module I have learned a lot and also enjoyed it especially when completing my portfolio in which he gave us lots of information how to think like a designer and ends with a great acceptable solution. Also in (Rose Wong’s) module I have learned how to use Adobe Photoshop CS6 and illustrator which was really help this year and in future too. I’m pretty much satisfied what I have learnt so far and enjoyed the year with my class.
In my 2nd year I found this year quite challenging and busy with lots of work load all the time assigning the projects one by one without a break, while working with groups is that easy to work with others as everyone has issues and different weakness, talking to each other thinking to concepts and choosing the best out of them creating models/prototypes was great stuff to do from which I have learned a lot. By working in groups which is great idea I realised what weakness I have and tired to make them less so I can come up it great design concepts in future. In (Ben’s) module I have really improved myself in thinking how to solve a design issue, where and for whom? It was hard, changeling and lots of work to do with a limited time frame but still liked it. It’s not to just think or draw sketches but we have to understand the problem and solve it.
Moreover working with groups I have improved my skills in Solid works, illustrator and Photoshop by helping each other in the groups. My work, ideas of my designs and presenting has been promoted. But working in a group has a negative side too some people do less or no work but still get the advantage. Still ok when there was group record was being recorded.
Overall this year was excellent and I have learnt things from it, digital eco-systems and active forms I like the projects and found quite challenging too. In future I would like to gain more and improve more as I want to design a product.
