Stick Love - 30 Second Video
Fall 2010
This project involved the class writing on a prompt, "In my life I find purpose, meaning, and contribution..." Then, from that prompt we were to create a 30 second video that incorporated a piece of our writing. In my writing I talked about life, living, finding love, God, etc. I also talked about my fiance and his importance in my life. Therefore, I created a stop-motion video (hand sketched by yours truly, so please excuse the inconsistencies, it's much more difficult than one would think) that shows a girl being created, and then she chooses the hard road in life because she knows the outcome will be greater and life changing. Along the way, a storm breaks lose, but luckily, a strapping young lad comes along to shelter her, and the pair fall in love.

This video was drawn by myself, and the images were captured by my fiance, who is human so the stills are not perfectly centered every time, but I feel as if this adds to the overall atmosphere of the video. The song is "Mouthwash" by Kate Nash. I chose this song in particular because it is just about living. She talks about what she is, what she likes, and who she is, and that is essentially what this video is trying to capture; life.
