Creative Thinking (SDState course) posters

The “Creative Collections” poster’s purpose was to briefly describe the exhibition the students of the DSGN-110 (Creative Thinking) spring class had put together. The students were divided into twelve groups, and the exhibition consisted of creatively putting everyday objects together based on a theme determined by each group. The poster also contains the group names, along with the names of the students in each group (130+ students in total). Several photos were taken of the students sitting on the floor of the Ritz Gallery in Grove Hall of South Dakota State University (SDState), as they waited for class to start. A photo was then chosen to be used for the background of the poster and another photo was taken of various small objects (representing the exhibition's concept) and used on the foreground on the bottom right. (Poster size: 24"x36")

Poster for Group D: “Not for Initial Use.”  This group’s exhibition consisted of using each member’s first initial and a variety of different small objects that somehow represented each member. Each member would then bring their creations together with one another to create one unified piece. The play on words with the group name is further embellished upon by using various fonts for each letter of the words which spell out the group name. (Poster size: 11"x17")
