Senior Capstone Project - The State of Film Poster Design (2017)
For my senior research project at UIndy, I decided to study film poster design and look into why so many posters are lazy, formulaic, and visually unappealing. I researched the creative and delivery process behind studio poster design, and also spoke to some designers in the industry to gain their insights.
The diorama below represents the interactive museum exhibit I created to represent my findings. In addition to research on the poster design process, the project included an educational portion. The exhibit also features elements that teach the principles of design. The exhibit included posters, pull quotes, informational text cards, and interactive PDFs presented on tablets.

The gallery at the bottom shows two Hollywood posters next to redesigns I created based on my academic studies of the design principles, composition, and meaningful visual communication.
