COR AED - Automatic External Defibrillator

(Honours project - 2012) COR is a radical redesign of the AED (Automatic External Defibrillator), rethinking and streamlining the interactions between the user and the device for even faster, higher quality treatment of sudden cardiac arrest victims by untrained responders.
Successful treatment demands minimal time until defibrillation and quality CPR to be performed between shock and diagnosis intervals.

COR facilitates faster setup and effective CPR by creating a streamlined workflow between each step of treatment: To setup, the user pulls apart the handles which opens the device from its compact form. The electrodes are now arranged in the proper position, allowing the user to simply place the entire device on the patient's chest.

After the initial shock cycle, users can administer CPR compressions by pushing down on the same handles while viewing pressure feedback on the centre display screen.
