I’ve always been fascinated with the organic forms created by trees in nature.

Like in a drawing I wanted to isolate the subject I was photographing. I wanted to study it’s lines, forms, texture and volume, using dark areas opposing to lighter ones and enhancing specific characteristics of that subject and ignoring others.

To select a specific subject I embrace the natural landscapes with walks and hikes in the forests, looking for interesting trees. I return at night with a large format camera and one single flashlight, to draw and emphasize the most interesting unique forms, volumes and twisted lines from the trunk and branches and the chaotic multiple spots given by the leafs of my subject.
Large and medium negative photographic film.
