13/14
“13/14” is a trick or a joke. In Central Spain, when someone makes a joke on you with something that seems to exist but it doesn’t, they say: “you have been 13/14”. This comes from a joke that used to be made on the rookie mechanics. They were asked to look for the 13/14 open-ended spanner and this spanner doesn't exist on the set.
That’s the name of our Gin Liqueur and the premise given by the customer, because it looks like a Gin but it is not, it’s a liqueur.
We decided to take the concept of the trick or joke to the bottle, turning its label into a visual trick. On the front of the label, diagonal lines form a drawing that against the back of the rear label, the brand of the liqueur can be read: "13/14". The fun thing about this label is that as you move the bottle, you can sometimes read the name in positive and sometimes in negative, and sometimes you only see lines crossing.
This design is inspired by Op Art pieces but with art nouveau aesthetics.

“13/14” es un truco o broma. En el centro de España, cuando alguien te hace una broma con algo que parece ser pero no existe, se dice: “te han hecho una 13/14”, esto viene de una broma que les hacían a los novatos de los talleres mecánicos, a los cuales se les pedía la llave 13/14, siendo inexistente esta correlación de números en el juego de llaves.
Ese es el nombre de nuestro licor de ginebra y la premisa que nos impuso el cliente, porque parece una ginebra pero no lo es, es un licor.
Decidimos llevar el concepto del truco o broma al envase, convirtiendo su etiqueta en un truco visual. En el frontal de la etiqueta aparecen líneas diagonales formando un dibujo que junto con el dorso de la etiqueta trasera, que tiene líneas diagonales en el sentido opuesto a las de la delantera, se puede leer el nombre de la ginebra “13/14”. Lo curioso de esta etiqueta es que según se mueva la botella, a veces se puede leer el nombre en positivo y otras en negativo, y otras veces solo se ve un cruce de líneas.
Este diseño está inspirado en piezas de Op Art pero con estética art nouveau.
