Children of the Arbat Trilogy | Book Cover Design
Set in 1934, Children of the Arbat trilogy exposes the lives of young adults growing up in the Arbat, Moscow's artistic district. The trilogy tells a story of suppression, fear and liberation in Stalin's Russia at the beginning of the infamous Great Purge. I created each illustration as a symbol for these harsh realities coupled with traditional patterns as representations of a generation's quest for beauty, hope and love. Each book jacket was printed using metallic ink.
