Kolkata Series for Shivan and Narresh

Right from the historic treasures of Kolkata, the chronicles of British Raj has been the absolute beauty for travellers and inspiration for designers.
Inspired from the history of Indian Chinese in Kolkata, this artwork for Shivan and Narresh, welcomes people to visit this heritage rich place, where both the cultures are in syntony. The Legendary Chinese Dragon 'Long' has been continued as a Howrah Bridge, which further enacts as an antenna for the road tram of Kolkata. The Background has been filled up with Chinese characters. The chopsticks and noodles swirled around them in broken lines, have been imagined as Kantha stitches, the famous handicraft of Bengal region.
Inspired from the auspicious festival celebrated in Bengal- Durga Pooja. Thr Eye in the center is the symbol of Durga and Eyeball represents Breasts, which is a symbol of motherhood. The eyelashes are in the shape of famous Howrah Bridge of Kolkata, built on Hoogly river. The water splashes are showed through curled blue lines, like water splashes. the reflection of Howrah Bridge can be seen on other side of the eye. On top of it, is the famous  Vidyasagar Setu, at Princep ghat of Kolkata. The thick black lines are made in the shape of Trishul on each side. The background is colored from grey to yellow, representing the color of deity from raw to ripe stage. The Background has the elements like random broken lines, representing Kantha, and decorated circles representing Bindi on the forehead of Maa Durga.
