Austin, Texas.  They say what starts here changes the world . . . but the funny thing is almost none of us started here.  Ask any large crowd, “How many of you are originally from Austin?” Only a few will raise their hands, and the only ones telling the truth are the old dudes with the pony tails and the ladies in hemp dresses.  The rest of us were drawn to this place for one reason or another. And is it any wonder? We’re rated the #1 best city to live by US News. #1 for jobs by Forbes. #1 fastest growing economy by Business Insider.   #1 city for singles. #1 for physical fitness. You know what else we got? Franklin’s BBQ. Take that, New York, London, Tokyo. And Waco! Most of us came here for opportunity. Some of us believed Austin could be a fresh start.  We were drawn like a moth to the light. Why did you come to Aus-Tex? What were you hoping would happen for you here? Could it be God Called you here for a reason?

Gateway is a different kind of church. Set in the number one city for heart of Texas, with the BBQ, Disc Golf we are a 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝘼𝙨 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝘼𝙧𝙚 kind of church – a community of imperfect people doing life together, helping each other become all that God created us to be. Whether you’ve had a relationship with God for years or you’re not even sure God exists, come as you are. And bring your questions, doubts, fears, and hurts too – because as we say, 𝙉𝙤 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙋𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙙 — because pretending just keeps us sucks. We are a diverse community of people who represent different cultures and are united by a faith that brings understanding and healing to our divided world.
Come As You Are
Gateway has always believed that to experience true authenticity and community, we have to celebrate and foster a community that welcomes you just as you are! We do that encouraging questions, asking for feedback, listening to our audience, and inviting them into community together.
Velcro Art
Velcro is the most design-centric ways to get two objects to stick, and we want our ideas to stick with our audiences. We do this by bringing new ways for people to think about something. We do this through Story, Surprise, and a value we call "Scrubs".  Named after the NBC TV show, Scrubs did an excellent job of making you cry about an issue that they had you laughing at, in the beginning of the episode. We want to turn topics over in our audiences the same way, as a powerful to for transformation.
