ANVL COMPONENTS

Industrial Design
Taking on this design project as my first in the cycling industry proved challenging but extremely satisfying. Drawing on my experience as a Professional level mountain bike racer and enthusiast ANVL Components was forged. Developing a new brand and a line of 10 extremely technical high end bicycling components in just over a year. As the only designer, I was able to fully control the outcome from sketch to 3D modeling to designing the packaging and graphics, and working directly with offshore suppliers and engineers during the manufacturing process. Every component I've designed has a story, a purpose and a goal. Forget about the limitations of tooling and time to manufacture and simply let the design be free from compromise.  For ANVL, every component started out this way with the freedom to evolve without limits.
The ARC Stem represents a revolution in stem design. Lightweight, strong and visually stunning. My design goal was to create a stem that visually accents the dynamic sculpted forms of carbon bike designs. The ARC is a no compromise approach to stem design and pushes CNC machining to the limit to create this unique stem that is light enough for enduro racing and trail riding yet strong enough for aggressive riding.
The ARC Direct Mount stem represents the most elegant DH stem design on the market.  Lightweight yet strong enough for World Cup applications, the ARC Direct Mount is the perfect accent to today’s modern downhill bike. Some design goals were hiding the front clamp bolts, and giving an integrated one piece look my using flowing lines and chiseled edges.
Insights during some clay and foam exploration combined with years of riding all day on some of the most agressive trails in the world at the Whistler Bike park lead to the Punch grip design. It's a completely new concept in grip ergonomics giving the rider the feel of a thin grip, but providing added control and anti-fatigue with a raised lower ridge that naturally conforms to the hand giving the finger tips a place to "lock in" during rough descents on the bike.
