The brief for this project was inspired by the Afrobubblegum theme and concept by Wanuri Kaihiu which she explained in details on her TedTalk appearance.The aim for this project was to creatively and graphically interpret the theme through your
unique personal and graphic voice while celebrating ideas and issues
raised by "the beguiling power of Africa".
For my idea I wanted to design a futuristic South African TOYOTA quantum taxi.
The taxi industry is one of the biggest industry that is owned by black people independently. So I wanted to just visualise how the future looks for the future taxi drivers in South Africa.
Initially I started with scamps then I took those to a 3D modelling programme called blender. I built the taxi use my scamps as references till it was finished.
Since I couldn't continue to fully render the 3D model on blender, I took screenshots of the 3D model and traced them on illustrator. I then took the outlines and moved them to photoshop which is where I did most of my rendering and the final look of the taxi.
