THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL, 2013.

Mixed media sculpture, 50cm X 50cm X 50cm. Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed the first humans on the Moon, on July 20, 1969. Broadcasted live on TV to a world-wide audience, Armstrong stepped onto the lunar surface and described the event as "one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." Apollo 11 effectively ended the Space Race between the USA and the USSR. This Lunar setting is placed within a salvaged Phillips 1957, tv set (type:17TA144A/01). The title comes from one of Abba's greatest hits. The piece was exhibited at RE:ACT vol. ΙΙ, Thessaloniki, Greece, curated by In The Loop team. Photography by Michael Dalanikas & Dimitris Polychroniadis.
