MADRE MARIA: CAMMINARE SULLE ACQUE about Mother Maria Skobtsova. 

On March 31, 1945, nun Maria (Skobtsova) died in the Ravensbrück concentration camp, having exchanged a jacket with a camp number with 

a young woman sentenced to death and entered the gas chamber instead. 

Metropolitan Anthony (Blum) said: "Mother Mary is a saint of our days and for our days, a woman of flesh and blood, filled with Divine Love, - fearlessly looked in the face 

of the problems of our century."

Mother Maria Skobtsova 1985 in the memorial center Yad Vashem was posthumously awarded the title “Righteous among the Nations”, and in 2004 she was canonized by the Patriarchate of Constantinople as a martyr.
