The inner world of classical ballet trough out its entire history remains behind the closed doors to wide audience, with a very little knowledge about what it takes to be a professional dancer. The lack of information somehow leads to numerous rumours about its cruelty and envious rivalry.

The series were shot during the staging process of the new ballet  “Three masks of the king” in Academic theatre of opera and ballet in Samara, Russia. Being remote from the major cities and so-called ballet capitals of Russia like Saint Petersburg, Moscow or Perm creates a very special community of people working together.  
Artists of the company after its renovation and full reconstruction of the theatre come not only from various cities inside the country, but also from all over the world including Panama and Japan. Most of the production workers  are former ballet dancers, who ended their career on stage and now continue to work literally behind the scene.

The aim of the series is to show that along side the hard physical work and exhausting rehearsal process sometimes up to 10 hours a day, lies a whole world of people who devoted their lives to dance and theatre.
