Unilever - small actions big difference.

Unilever

In Unilever we believe small is powerful. That’s why we made Small and Mighty 2 x concentrated. That means it’s kinder to the environment as it uses half the water, half the packaging and half the lorries used to   transport the product. And what does that all mean? In 2007 the amount of Persil sold meant that we saved 4.1 million litres of water in making it and 4900 trees. The plastic saved is the equivalent to the amount that would be used to make 590 million plastic bags. And by using half the lorries, we saved 3 million tonnes of CO2. That is certainly anything but small.

A small thing like an ice cream can change the world, scoop by scoop.
In 2006, Unilever launched the world’s first ever Fairtrade vanilla ice cream. Now four of our flavours have achieved Fairtrade status. What does it mean? Quite a lot. The premium we pay for these ingredients enables farmers to provide basic needs for their families, such as healthcare, education and safe housing. That’s briefly how we can all make the world a favour by choosing the right flavour.

Something as small as a soup can make a big difference to a lot of people.
2 billion to be more precise. What does a bar of soap has to do with the Indian economy?  ‘It’s just soap’ you say. But sometimes such a small thing like washing you hands can change your life dramatically. Lifebuoy is an anti-bacterial soap that gives people clean, germ-free hands. That helps mothers to be reassured that their children are less likely to fall ill. If kids don’t fall ill, they don’t miss school. And if they don’t miss school, they can have a better future. It’s not just soap.  It’s a tool. And a powerful one.
