Five years ago I joined a data journalism team based in Manchester.
I am very glad I was given the opportunity to challenge my self with very short deadlines and with complex spreadsheets. It also meant I could work combining my illustration and communication skills, in order to speak through images to the reader and to make numbers and statistics understandable to a large audience.
The following pages are a selection of the hundreds of daily print pages I've worked on during the last two years at Reach plc (former Trinity Mirror). They are data-lead stories published every day on regional titles across the UK. These include The Chronicle, Manchester Evening News, Bristol Post, Liverpool Eco, Birmingham Mail and many others.
Thanks to some of these print pages I have been shortlisted for Designer of the Year at the Regional Press Awards for the years 2017, 2018 and 2019 and, as a team, we have won the prestigious International Print Innovation of the year at Newsawards 2018.
